2. Overview
This website is purely informational. There are no user accounts, no forms and no cookies. Personal data is only processed to the extent needed to run the site and to measure its reach in a privacy-friendly way.
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you visit the site, Vercel processes technically necessary data such as your IP address, date and time, the requested page, referrer, browser and operating system in order to deliver and secure the website.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is the secure and stable operation of the website. A data processing agreement is in place with Vercel. Vercel is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, so transfers to the USA are based on the European Commission's adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR).
4. Analytics with Vercel Web Analytics
I use Vercel Web Analytics to count visitors. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Visitors are told apart by a hash of anonymised request data that is discarded after 24 hours. There is no cross-site tracking and no link to your identity. Recorded data includes the page visited, referrer, country, browser, operating system and device type.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is understanding how the website is used.
5. Settings stored on your device
If you change the appearance (light, dark or system), your choice is saved in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device and is only used to show you the appearance you picked. Storing it is strictly necessary for this feature you asked for (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG).
6. Fonts
All fonts are served by this website itself. No connections are made to Google or any other font provider.
7. Contact by email
If you email me, I process your details to answer your request (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). The data is deleted once it is no longer needed for that purpose, unless statutory retention periods apply.
8. Your rights
Within the limits of the law, you have the right to:
- access the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- rectification (Art. 16 GDPR) and erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- object to processing based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR)
You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia.
