SoftglowOS
Coming soon

The Linux desktop built for streaming.

SoftglowOS is a Linux desktop for streamers, content creators and gamers. OBS, audio routing, GoXLR and Stream Deck work right after install – no tinkering.

Why SoftglowOS

Streaming on Linux, without the weekend of setup.

Gaming on Linux is great today. Streaming is where it still gets fiddly: audio that drifts, devices without drivers, OBS fighting its sandbox. SoftglowOS ships all of it ready to go, so you can hit Go Live instead of reading forum threads.

Streamers

OBS, audio routing and your stream gear set up from the first boot.

Content creators

A calm, focused desktop for recording, editing and publishing.

Gamers

Steam, Heroic and Lutris with current drivers, ready to play.

Features

Everything a stream needs, built in.

Streaming-ready on first boot

OBS Studio runs natively instead of as a Flatpak, and the encoder is picked for your graphics card – NVENC, AMD or Intel.

Audio routing built in

Game, chat, music and system on their own channels, with a separate stream mix and monitor mix. Mic filters included.

Your gear just works

GoXLR, Stream Deck and capture cards are detected and set up. RGB lighting is supported for most vendors.

Ready to play

Steam, Heroic and Lutris come preinstalled, on top of a gaming-tuned base with current drivers.

A calm, clean desktop

Inspired by macOS: quiet, spacious and polished. Light and dark switch with the time of day, and no system sound ever beeps into your stream.

Updates that can't break your setup

The whole system updates in one piece. If something goes wrong, roll back to yesterday's version with a single restart.

Hardware & anti-cheat

Honest about what runs.

Hardware

  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 series and newer at launch
  • AMD and Intel graphics follow with a second edition
  • Desktop PCs and laptops, including laptops with two GPUs

Handhelds and a console-style mode are not planned.

Anti-cheat

Most Windows games run on Linux through Proton. Some multiplayer games use anti-cheat that blocks Linux on purpose. That is the publisher's decision, and no Linux system can work around it. Check your games before you switch.
